OSHO South Africa Newsletter 08 09 Dear friends Being involved in this play is a blessing, it always reminds me how relentlessly one needs to keep going at it and create that special space within and without and hold it. Now back from a most amazing time in Australia, where I was assisting with Path of love process that was run by Turiya and 30+ staff members and co facilitators. We were 70 odd all together 2 hours out of Sydney, dancing exploring meditating and opening the heart wide open.. scary. This process is happening once a month all over the world, and we pray to make it happen here in Africa soon. On Conscious Sexuality

If we know how to use our sexual energy, it can take us into a beautiful flowering of the heart, into deep states of bliss and serenity. Sexual energy can also open up our authentic wildness! However, for many of us today, this potential of our sexuality is not being fully realized. Some of the common reasons are:

• We have been conditioned to suppress our natural sexuality in some way.
• Out of habit, sex has become a rushed explosion of pent-up energy, rather than an experience of loving, deepening, merging.
• Experiences that we have had in the past (these can be sexual, emotional, physical, spiritual) got stuck in the body and are blocking our energy flow.
• We are simply not in our bodies enough, loving being in our bodies enough!

The good news is that it is infinitely possible to open the flow of your natural sexuality into a consciousexpression again, no matter what your age is, and whether you have a partner or not. What it takes is a willingness to shed some illusions, and to get conscious with your life!

The retreat

This retreat is an introduction into the art of sacred sexuality. My specific intent is to design it around the participants; where you are at and what you need. I hope to make some of the basic concepts of conscioussexuality clear to you, and to give you a deep (and blissful) experience of what is possible, in your body. Since this is an introductory workshop, you will not be required to expose yourself in any way that is not comfortable for you. The retreat will also introduce you to practices that you can take into your daily life and/or into your relationship.

For those of you who have already done some work with me and would like to deepen your understanding and for those who wish to go deeper after the weekend's retreat I offer an additional day (Sunday 4 pm to Monday 4 pm) in which we can explore some more. You are welcome to bring your questions and requests.

The presenter

Shakti is a full time teacher of conscious sexuality. She has a passion for embodied awakening - using the body as an alive, responsive vehicle to help us discover the truth of who we really are. Shakti is based in Cape Town and runs workshops and retreats in Cape Town and elsewhere in South Africa. She also does private consultations. Shakti has a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology. The venue

The Osho Neo Monastery is a unique forest venue constructed and managed by people who glow with the light of awareness. Accommodation is provided in A-frame wooden huts lovingly made by the owner. The gathering hall rises up out of the forest and opens up to it on all sides. This is a back-to-nature weekend, the best way to get back into our natural sexuality - with manually heated showers, candles and fires. Food is vegetarian and always exquisite.

Tantra understands male and female as two different energy poles; as polarities of the same ONE energy which is life itself, Divine, Godly and spiritual. When men and women understand the true meaning of their opposite,they learn to harmonise with and support each other in a more spiritual way and in so doing, live their individual potential more fully. This is not limited to a love relationship or marriage, but applies to any male/female relationship: father/daughter, mother/son, as well as friendships and professional relationships of opposite gender. In fact every encounter, every interaction between a man and a woman,be it pleasurable or hurtful, be it meaningful or mundane, has a spiritual objective, and becoming aware of this, we learn from each other and grow through each encounter. More importantly however, the spiritual objective is to unite with life itself through relating to each other. The Tantric Fire Couple's Retreats focus on specific issues relating to women and to men while focusing on the understanding of the "other" and relating to one another. The work will be of a playful, sensual and of a healing nature as well as therapeutic, informative and practical.

At the beginning of a relationship a couple usually experiences a wonderful "heaven on earth"connection creating the illusion of a melting of time and space. Here is someone, who understands you deeply, who accepts you... and so all your elementary needs seem to be fulfilled. As time passes and particularly in dealing with daily life, shadows tend to creep in: controversy, misunderstandings, jealousy, withdrawal, and even loss of respect is often the result. These emotional and practical problems are usually reflected in less frequent and a more superficial sexuality.

How can two people in a relationship consciously create and maintain a condition of solidarity, love and intimacy? How can they renew their connection? Is it possible to fall in love all over again?

This workshop gives you tools to do just this. In a loving and accepting atmosphere, you will learn to connect again - with yourself, and with life - more consciously, more intimately and more lovingly - and in so doing connect equally consciously, intimately and lovingly with your partner.

Not only partners of many years can run into this kind of trouble, also new couples, freshly in love, can benefit from receiving the crucial keys that the Art of Tantra offers, in order to unlock, unfold, grow and retain a deeper quality of love and the ecstatic potential of your sexuality.

In co-coordinated tantric and sensual exercises, you will learn to unfold and expand your sexual energy and consciously draw this into your whole body. You will learn it to embrace your difference as a male or female, and to accept, respect and celebrate this difference in your partner.

We do this through a variety of exercises of a meditative, experiential, sensual as well as sexual nature. We do this playfully and joyfully and thus develop an atmosphere in which you can be authentic individuals connecting towards a common fulfillment of your relationship.

We work at it with a variety of elements from Tantra, tantric massage, sexual therapy, couples therapy, emotional therapeutic processing.....and laughter and a lot of fun!

The Tantric Fire Couple's Retreat is a beginner's weekend. We create a warm, safe and comfortable atmosphere for all the work. You will be guided every step of the way, your boundaries are respected at all times. There is no explicit nudity involved.

THE FACILITATORS

Ma Anand Leandra and Nils Kriedner (Dresden, Germany) are both trained and well experienced tantra coaches in addition to other qualifications in the human development and bodywork healing field. Together they create a comfortable and safe space for couples as well as individual men and women to explore and experience, to learn and grow, to share and support each other. SCHEDULE

The retreats are residential and include two nights accommodation in beautiful en-suite rooms in addition to all meals (vegetarian). We begin with supper on Friday at 6.30 and end on Sunday at 2.30 pm after lunch.

DATES & VENUES

We have chosen three of the finest retreat centers around South Africa. Each one has something unique to offer and all are secluded and set in beautiful surroundings, offering a peaceful atmosphere to enhance our work. Prices quoted are per person sharing, single accommodation is available on request at all retreat centers for an additional fee. All retreat centers offer an extra stay over on Sunday night at special rates.

DURBAN COSTAL AREA
Friday 7th - Sunday 9th August

Highcroft Mystical Retreat & Labyrinth - Umzumbe - KwaZulu/Natal

(80 minutes south of Durban, 50 minutes north of Margate)

Highcroft is a peaceful retreat venue with a unique 100 year ald meditation room (one side consists mainly of an ancient and huge tree) and a labyrinth. Each unit (wooden cabin style, ensuite and comfortable) is private and has a deck to take in the view. The property also offers beautiful trails and walks. There is a beautiful dining area with a deck as well as our working room. We will be making use of the labyrinth during the weekend. This is a very worthwhile place to stay on an extra night on Sunday, making this a real weekend get-a-way for you. (Monday is a public holiday!)

Monday 10th August is a public holiday.

Child Care is available for couple's with children who would otherwise not be able to attend.

We will organise entertainment and activities. Please ask if required.

CAPE TOWN AREA

Stanford Valley Conference Centre, Overberg Region, Western Cape.
(approx. 2-3 hrs from Cape Town)

Stanford Valley is an organic farm owned by a group of 45 friends. The property has two rivers running between Fynbos covered hills, dams, Afrikaner Cattle and other farm animals. The 150 year old Ou Huis where we will be eating has a large fire place.
Winter heating: The ensuite rooms in two blocks seperate from the rest of the farm, are all heated. The Barn, where we will be working is heated with gas patio heaters.

JOHANNESBURG / BLOEMFONTEIN / DURBAN

Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd August
Drakensberg Mountain Retreat -Olifiershoek Pass, Northern Drakensberg.
(approx. 3 hrs equidistant from Durban, Johannesburg and Bloemfontein)

A unique venue with a stunning view of the Drakensberg in front of the Amphitheater. Our venue is completely separate from the guest house. A huge conservatory with lawn, paths, flower beds with shrubs and plants... and a pool. We can be out of doors in all weather conditions! Bring your swimming costumes!

Winter heating: the dining area, the working space and enclosed verandas are heated by large fire places and some of the rooms have their own small conservatory!

R 2200 p. p. sharing, inclusive of the workshop, shared accommodation and all meals (vegetarian).

We guarantee that your personal details as well as all the work done in the retreat is handled as confidential. We never share your details or personal information with anyone without your explicite permission. We will create confidentiality agreements will all participants at the outset of the retreats. Tantra Discussion evening with Swami Rahasya

Greetings everyone

We will be hosting another of our Tantra Discussion evenings with Swami Rahasya, who will be accompanied by Dakini Sh'kina Moondancer, at Shakti Gardens on Saturday 8th August.

We are blessed and honored to have teachers such as Swami Rahasya (Director of the Advait Tantra School) bless us with his presence, and his knowledge of Tantra. This being such a broad subject, we need enlightened people such as the Swami come and lead us in our quest for knowledge and understanding, and he will again break this down for us. As usual we continue to welcome and meet new seekers at our venue. If you know of anyone who might be interested or just curious about Tantra, or the teachings of Osho, then please forward this email to them, or even better, invite them to join us at Shakti Gardens.

As mentioned in our previous newsletter, Dakini Sh'kina Moondancer and I have been discussing the possibility of hosting various workshops. We are also looking at the possibility of organizing a celebration in Spring, this will be held outdoors, as well as a Puja at Shakti Gardens.

First Annual African Conference & Gathering for Sacred Sexuality Healers, Teachers & Practitioners - Johannesburg, South Africa - this South African Tour and 3 day Conference on Sacred Sexuality will be happening in November, 27-29! The conference will be hosted by members of Sedona Temple and the International School of Temple Arts (Arizona) together with members of the Advait Tantra School (JHB) and members of Shakti Gardens. Having recently completed a tour of Australia, teachers of the Sedona Temple will be visiting South Africa. We will keep you informed with more details as we make progress with our planning.
