. . I just brought this over from another group Soul Tantriks, and I felt that it was worthy of considering here..... The purification of lust is not only managed by the mind, but there is an intelligence of the body that must also enter the equation. This is an evolutionary process that calls for human beings to awaken in all of their chakras and sex (or lust) is one of the natural mechanisms for that. If we had not as a species been so burdened by shame and guilt around our sexuality, we may have progressed spiritually far beyond where we now are. Osho offered that the sexual urge kicks in approximately 14 years after we are born, and we will begin to die approximately 14 years after its demise. So there is a natural survival component to our 'lustful' drives. And while we have lust in place of love, we will never get to the real life giving juice that a loving sexuality has to offer, because that requires creating a circle of energy, a flow of life force from partner to partner. And that is predicated on cultivating a meditative attitude towards our sexual expression. However, that kundalini life force energy can be also accessed solo as well as in partnership because the awakening of our kundalini, is not reserved for those who are overtly sexual. it is available to anyone with a body, as is taught in Kundalini Yoga.
